Title of the paper: Simulation to long-term selection - model and results. A model for long-term selection is presented. The model involving finite number of loci explains the joint expression of a quantitative character (body weight) and an alternative character (mating success). A dependence between both is given by linkage. Two lines in mice were simulated. One of them was selected on body weight over 70 generations using family selection. The other line was developed over 60 generations without selection but with the same reproduction design. The definition of parameters was done by estimation and fitting of simulation to the data of lines. The results of simulation and experiments were compared and discussed.
