OPTICAL-PROPERTIES OF THE CD1-XPBXF2 ALLOYS ABOVE THE FUNDAMENTAL ABSORPTION-EDGE

The reflectivity of Cd1-xPbxF2 alloys (x=0.0, 0.071, 0.25, 0.42, 0.72, 1.0) was measured in the energy range of 4≤hv≤10eV. On the basis of the experimental spectra, optical (n, k) and dielectric (ε1, ε2) parameters were calculated by means of the Kramers-Kronig procedure. "Persistence"-type character of the optical spectra of the crystals investigated was revealed, and interpreted as caused by the properties of the wave functions of the states involved in the optical transitions observed, rather than by the energy separation of the bands of the two binary constituents. © 1990.
