摘要
The surface effect of director reorientation in a nematic liquid crystal (LC) cell caused by the light induced anisotropy in an aligning material is considered. it is described on the basis of the model, in which the director reorientation is associated with appearance of the easy axis direction and the anchoring energy increase under the light irradiation of the aligning surface. This reorientation was observed on the surface of the poly (vinyl-cinnamate) film doped with ate-dye under the irradiation of He-Cd laser beam. The range of light induced azimuthal anchoring energy change was (0-10(-3)) erg/cm(2).
