Inverse extremal problems and their methods of solution

A class of problems, dhe inverse extremal problems, is defined. The convexity and conditionality of optimizing functions are studied by comparing different methods of solving the inverse extremal problems. Formulas are derived for finding the errors in the solution of an inverse extremal problem by each method when the initial data contains errors. The feasibility of solving an inverse extremal problem is examined for the case where the solution of the direct extremal problem is not fully known. The case in which the solution of an inverse extremal problem is not unique is studied.
