摘要：

The interoperability of metadata is an important precondition for the generation of information and knowledge. of a multiplicity of available resources in a networked world. For this reason, since the middle of the nineties, different standards are arising with the intention to enhance the interoperability of metadata. We mention especially DCMES and DCAM, RDF and SKOS. The function of KIM is to accompany these developments and to transport them into the German speaking community. Besides pure offers of information (e.g. as translations, lectures and assistance KIM offers as well concrete aid in the form of training and advice.
