摘要
1. By using a three dimension coulometric HPLC system, a wide range of monoamines and related metabolites were quantified simultaneously in the neural complex of the ascidian, Ciona intestinalis. 2. The main biogenic monoamine metabolic pathways were shown to be catecholamines: Tyrosine-4-L-Dopa-Dopamine-Norepinephrine-Normetanephrine and Dopamine-Dihydroxyphenylacetic acid, and indolalkylamines: Tryptophan-5-Hydroxytryptophan-5-Hydroxytryptamine. 3. In addition to these, Tyramine and Vanillic acid were suggested to be present.
