摘要
The electromagnetic fields in linear induction motors (LIMs) are subject to the convective diffusion equation. Since it is too difficult to solve their boundary value problems analytically, numerical methods such as finite element method (FEM) have been applied to them. Some authors reported that the solution derived from Galerkin FEM (G. FEM) with linear interpolations will oscillate between the adjacent nodes. No studies, however, have been reported about the electromagnetic phenomena in detail and none have discussed the stabilization of oscillations. We have investigated the LIM by the G. FEM and the upwind Galerkin FEM (U. G. FEM) to suppress such oscillations. © 1990, IEEE. All rights reserved.
