摘要
This paper presents an impact collapse analysis of a steel pipe circular arch considering the strain-rate effect. The purpose of this study is to estimate the ultimate absorbed energy at the collapse of the arch under an impact loading. At first, a multi-mass rigid-spring model is proposed by considering both flexural and axial spring. Secondly, the strain-rate effect with respect to the yield stress is taken into account for the bending moment and the axial force yield condition of the steel pipe at each spring. Finally, the ultimate absorbed energy is found by integrating the area of the load-deformation curve and is compared with the experimental results. It is found that this approach can simulate well the experiments at the collapse of the arch.
