Interfacial potential differences (pds), diffusion-migration pds, steady-state current-voltage curves, concentration-distance-time profiles, ac currents and impedances, and dc limiting currents are derived in uniform ways for free-standing and supported redox polymer films in bathing electrolytes. Configurations include mass-conservative systems: two reference electrodes, two embedded metal electrodes; and non-conservative systems: one reference, one metal electrode and 4-electrode potentiostat arrangements. For reversible ion- and electron-exchanging interfaces, the electrochemical potential concept is used; for transport the charged species, ions and electrons are treated as mixed conductors subject to transport by diffusion and migration through homogeneous media.
