摘要
Colonoscopy is the gold standard for colorectal cancer screening. Advances in imaging and colonoscopy techniques have led to a higher detection rate of adenomas but since the introduction of colonoscopy in the late 1960s there have only been marginal innovations in the technology itself. There are several approaches to improve colonoscopy and patient acceptance with the help of new devices, new endoscopy technologies and adjunctive techniques. In this paper the new techniques and technologies to achieve these aims are described.
