摘要
We studied oxidized metal powders (Al, Ti, Nb, Ni, Ag, Cr, La) by means of different experimental techniques using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The STM images show surface roughness of the powder particles in a nanometer scale range. Stable rectifying behavior was observed for most I-V-curves in STS. XPS revealed thick oxide layers on most of the particle surfaces. The main compound of the lanthanum powder surface was LA(OH)3. No STM images and no STS measurements could be obtained from the lanthanum powder sample. Silver powder revealed exceptional behavior in the XPS and the STS measurements.
