Impact of learning styles on academic achievement of students using iPod Communication

摘要
Learning styles currently have a lack of consensus on a specific definition, the evolution of the different theories are explained based on the authors consider factors, such as perception, information processing, operation of the hemispheres qof the brain, sensory factors, the personality of the individual and so multifactorial, among others. In this study we used the classification of Honey & Alonso on four learning styles: active, theoretical, thoughtful and pragmatic. Based on their identification, is questioned about its impact on the academic achievement of students in the science career and communication skills at a private university in Mexico with the use of the iPod, were applied semi-structured interviews teachers and students as well as observations with field diary. The findings are in failing to define or standardize the profile of students in a career based on their learning styles confirms that students with active learning style if you optimize the use of the iPod, while the pragmatic students considered useful, if not indispensable, they recognize the value that can be given in his personal life, as well as identifying the need for institutional reforms within schools when implementing technological resources to justify its application.
