摘要
The performance of sensing molecules on surfaces is improved, and molecular responses are enhanced with covalently immobilized and oriented biomolecules. This contribution introduces approved strategies to attain molecular orientation, and addresses the procedures and unique advantages of using light-controlled reactions to achieve biomolecule immobilization on material and lipid bilayer surfaces. Light-dependent immobilization is exemplified by a procedure which leads to covalent binding of immunoreagents to lipid bilayer membrane surfaces.
