摘要
Hydrogen production from 2-propanol under boiling and refluxing conditions (80-degrees-C) constitutes a chemical heat pump system, by coupling with the separation procedure of 2-propanol from acetone and hydrogen at ambient temperature and the exothermic reverse reaction at high temperature (200-degrees-C). Chemical conversion and storage of low-quality heat are advantageous for solar heat utilization. The role of catalysis for the endothermic 2-propanol dehydrogenation is especially important. The high activity of Ru and the low product retardation over Pt were noteworthy. A composite Ru-Pt catalyst and its surface modification with Pt(acaC)2 or Pd(acaC)2 exhibited activity enhancements.
