摘要
This article is a conceptual exercise in what is called fluid objects, materialized in violence and social exclusion. These notions are discussed and clarified though a critique of the nature of fluid objects based on the ethnographic experience itself in areas and with social actors linked to exclusion and violence. This is the empirical basis for the analysis of two modes of production of structural violence: political action and mechanisms of social control. This article will also consider two modes of production of everyday violence: police activities in "troubled areas" and the demolition of public housing areas associated with drug use. It is argued that these two levels of violence are articulated through social exclusion, and that the status of the excluded is marked by collective victimization and social suffering.
