摘要
Primary and secondary aliphatic alcohols, as well as benzyl alcohol and allyl alcohol are oxidized to the corresponding carbonyl compounds by oxygen at 20-degrees-C in concentrated perchloric, sulfuric and trifluoroacetic acids solutions in the presence of nitrous acid as the catalyst. The conversion level is dependent on the structure of alcohol molecule and reaction conditions. The possible mechanism is proposed.
