Evaluation of body weight and carcass traits of males Japanese quails by slaughter age

This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of slaughter age on body weight (BW), weight (WCC) and yield of carcass cooled (YCC), weight (WBYC) and breast yield cold (BYC), and weight (WTDC) and yield of thigh and drumstick cooled (YTDC) of males Japanese quails. Eighty quails with 21 days of age were allotted to eight boxes. In the 35th and 49th days of age, forty quails were individually weighed, slaughtered, identified, frozen and subsequently defrosted. There was difference (p<0.05) between population means estimated in the 35th and 49th days of age for all traits. The confidence intervals estimated in the 35th and 49th days of age ranged from 95.19 to 99.51 g and 111.68 to 116.72 g (BW); 57.76 to 61.14 g and 70.41 to 74.07 g (WCC); 60.44 to 61.56% and 62.83 to 63.61% (YCC); 22.62 to 24.14 g and 29.28 to 30.94 g (WBYC); 23.61 to 24.35% and 25.98 to 26.74% (BYC); 15.39 to 16.43 g and 19.44 to 20.60 g (WTDF) and 16.05 to 16.59% and 17.28 to 17.74% (YTDC), respectively. Males Japanese quails fed continuously and ad libitum have better zootechniques indexes to forty-nine days of age.
