Music education in Japan and Spain: analysis of the Primary School curriculum

摘要
This article is the result of a comparative analysis of Japanese and Spanish Music curriculum for Primary School. The introduction contains considerations and specific problems that different authors have pointed out in relation to music curriculum. The central section identifies the most important aspects of the Primary School curriculum in relation to music education and subsequently to analyze the specific elements of the music curriculum. The findings highlight, among other, very different organizational aspects in the treatment of music in the two countries; the location of its objectives in a very general level that makes difficult its transfer to the realities of the classroom; a consistent progress of contents; and the importance of expert advice and the creation of a guide with methodological guidelines to facilitate and implement the work of teachers in developing the music curriculum in the classroom.
