The foot of the letter. Critique and genealogical trajectory in the essay work of. Jaime Gil de Biedma

The work proposes to study the critical work of the catalan Jaime Gil de Biedma - one of the major exponents of the generation of the Spanish "half-century" - through the selection of some of the essays contained in El pie de la letra. This book, which contains critical works written between 1955 and 1979, is an important entry to the original ideas of the poet, wich present lucid redefini-tions for the more tradicional conceptions of the "lyric genre". It is proposed the approximation to a selection of its central essays and, also, the approach to some of the most representative poems of his poetry, in view of connecting his critical exercise with his poetic work.
