ENHANCED BEAM POLARIZATION FROM A LAMB-SHIFT POLARIZED-ION SOURCE USING STATIC FIELD METHODS

摘要
A static field method has been used to increase the beam polarization from a Lamb-shift polarized-ion source. A proton beam with polarization {divides}P{divides} = 0.78 ± 0.02 and a deuteron beam with polarizations {divides}P3{divides} = 0.49 ± 0.02, P33 = 0.007 ± 0.010 have been obtained. A proposal is made which should allow a purely tensor polarized deuteron beam to be obtained from the Lamb-shift type source. © 1968.
