ON THE MECHANISM OF CD2+ TRANSFER IN METHANOL ACROSS SATURATED ORGANIC MONOLAYERS

摘要
The kinetics of a typical ion-transfer reaction (ITR), like the reduction of Cd2+ ions, across surfactant monolayers is studied in methanol by means of dc-polarography. Combining kinetic parameters with adsorption data an elucidation of the mechanism of the inhibited discharge of Cd2+ is attempted. The analysis of the experimental data does not seem to confirm the incorporation of the pre-adsorbed surfactant molecules by the activated complex, at θ{reversed tilde equals} 1, which has been repeatedly shown to occur in aqueous systems. © 1990.
