摘要
Tourism is an activity capable of generating development dynamics that can positively impact in communities. To propose imagineries as mechanisms to project to the future desirable changes in the environment constitutes the framework of this proposal, summarizes the results of a research subscribed and financed by the Research Coordination of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Universidad del Zulia. The research proposes to establish guidelines for tourism development from citizen participation, applying a case study as a methodology in order to get the inhabitants' collective imaginery of Chiquinquire-La Concepcion-El Carmelo urban area of Municipality La Canada de Urdaneta, Zulia state. Using a phenomenological approach that allow the reflection of their social practices, local images, values as well as the potential to be used in order to develop this activity. The importance of this urban area resides in the need for enhancement of the General Rafael Urdaneta birthplace, cultural immovable property located in this municipality. The research revealed an imaginery that interlaces religion, culture, traditions and people's ways of being, in a territory which incorporates the city of Maracaibo in order to complete scenarios that originate their daily activities.
