LARGE PIPES FOR CHEMICAL-PLANTS AND THERMAL POWER-STATIONS

Heating, rolling, and heat treatment schedules are proposed for the production of large pipes of heat resistant steels for chemical plants and thermal power stations and also pipes of critical designation. Measures have been taken to improve the quality and dimensional accuracy of the pipes and reduce metal consumption. Recommendations concerning the reconstruction of an 8-16" Pilger unit will increase output, reduce manufacturing costs, ensure high product quality, and enable pipes of greater wall thickness and diameter and also greater length to be produced.
