The latex 2-HEMA/BuA/MMA terpolymer is a suitable coating substance for use as microcapsular wall material. The liberation profiles of xanthinol nicotinate from microcapsules showed changes only at a 30% content of the wall-forming polymer. Matrix tablets formed by compression of microcapsules featured suitable physical-mechanical properties. Release of the drug substance from matrix tablets depended on the polymer contents in the skeleton. Tablets containing 20-30% of the 2-HEMA/BuA/MMA terpolymer released the drug substance at a slow rate. The polyacrylate evaluated in the work was able to extend the drug release time in an 8-12 h interval.
