By the introduction of some ansatz equations, we have obtained several new classes of traveling (solitary) wave solutions to the nonlinear diffusion equation f(1)(u)u(1) + f(2)(u)u(x) + f(3)(u)(xx) + f(4)(u)u(x)(2) = f(5)(u) and the nonlinear wave equation f(1)(u)u(u) + f(2)(u)u(1) + f(3)(u)u(xx) + f(4)(u)u(x) + f(5)(u)(x)(2)+ ... = f(6)(u) Some applications of these solutions are discussed.
