High resolution spectra of six giants belonging to galactic globular clusters have been obtained. Accurate abundance determinations of various elements have been obtained by means of model atmosphere analysis. We found that the Q39 index becomes extremely sensitive to a change in metallicity in objects with [Fe/H] > -1, ruling out the linearity of the relation Q39 = f([Fe/H]). The overabundance of alpha-elements found by previous authors is confirmed. The results are discussed in the light of models of self-enrichment of globular clusters.
