摘要：

During 1518-1519, Luther's debate with Cajetan and Eck on the Authority of the Pope were crucial for his break with the Roman Church. Luther insisted upon the authority of Scripture, challenging the Holy authorities of the Pope and the Church. These debates also helped him to further study church history. The debates spread among intellectuals and German nobles. The dispute with Rome,1518-1519,set the stage for the further development of Luther's theology.
