DISTRIBUTED SIMULATION - A SIMULATION SYSTEM FOR DISCRETE-EVENT SYSTEMS

Traditional sequential simulation of discrete event models can often require an enormous amount of computation time. Executing such a simulation in a distributed environment allows potentially significant speed-ups. We propose a layered architecture for distributed simulation systems based on a separation of the simulation model from its interpretation. interaction problems are hidden in the simulation controlling mechanism. The basic issues of implementation in a transputer network are presented.
