摘要：

The purpose of this article is to explain Adornos's philosophy as a materialistic interpretation and to defend its validity nowadays as alternative to Horkheimer's conception of philosophy as critical theory. The article shows Adornos' criticism to the idea of research that Hokheimer defends as program for the Institut for Social Rearch in Frankfurt and the conection of the materialistic interpretation with Benjamin's The origin of German tragic drama and with Marx's thesis of the fetishism of commodities. The materiallistic interpretation will be presented as a possibility for a critical philosophy today.
