Using IR-spectroscopy systems with intermolecular hydrogen bonding OH...N and OH...O have been studied in the solutions CCL4, CH2CL2, C6H6, CH3NO2, and CH3CN, as well as in various mixtures of these solvents. Integral intensities of valent vibrations of the hydroxyl groups in phenol monomer molecules and their H-complexes with pyridine are measured. Thermodynamic features of complexation equilibria have been calculated for three- and four-component systems of various composition. Calculation methods for complexation constants and enthalpies in individual solvents by dats obtained for their mixtures are proposed. Explanation for the behaviour of spectroscopic and thermodynamic features depending on medium properties has been given. © 1990.
