摘要：

Dislocation of mandibular condyle is very common in adults, but a rarity in children. We report a case of type 11c traumatic anterior dislocation of mandibular condyle in a 4 year old child into the infratemporal fossa with no fracture of the zygomatic arch due to fall. Repeated attempts of closed reduction under general anaesthesia were unsuccessful. Later the condyle was reduced into the glenoid fossa with open reduction using a preauricular approach. Patient was kept on intermaxillary fixation for a week followed with active mouth opening exercises. (C) 2012 Asian AOMS, ASOMP, JSOP, JSOMS, JSOM, and JAMI. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
