摘要
Considering the technical and economical aspects of onshore cables acting as a bipolar ac transmission system reveals decisive advantages with respect to the secured transmission capacity during failure situations, as compared with the normal three-phase double system. Much less expensive cable systems can be used, and possibly even a total cable system can be spared. Further advantages are offered with regard to the cross-bonding of sheaths, to cable laying as well as to the values and symmetry of line reactances. Bipolar cable systems prove to be optimal with respect to low magnetic fields, in which it is superior to overhead lines as well as to normal cable systems in flat formation.
