Multicriteria in Managing Capital Structure of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises

Usually, financial decisions in business occur in an optimization context. They are characterized by incomplete information, when some performance measures are quantitative, while others are qualitative. This paper is aimed at building a model using the Multicriteria Decision Aid (MCDA) methodology, which will help financial managers of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the choice of appropriate capital structure for the company. The MCDA is a set of methods and techniques that supports people and organizations to make decisions under the influence of a multitude of variables. As a result, a model was built up to support more adequate financial decisions for SMEs.
