Inclusion in contemporaneity and the discussions about assistive technologies in a distance education course

摘要
Promoting quality education that addresses the needs of people is one of the new challenges of contemporaneity. With its socializing and formative function of the human being, the educational process should be in favour of human development. Amidst these challenges is Distance Education democratizing education, reducing distances and changing social realities, being this field of transformation the educational process of persons with special educational needs in an inclusive perspective. This article aims to discuss the importance of Distance Education, reflect on the role of Assistive Technologies in the process of inclusion of people with disabilities and analyse the proposals of the Training Course for Teachers of Inclusive Education in a Distance Education mode. Documental analysis as a methodology brings about distance education and assistive technology as well as an assessment of the course material in question, followed by some results as testimony and presenting analysis benefits from the training. It is hoped that the study will contribute towards discussions about the integration of technology in education and inclusion of people with special needs.
