摘要
In this research work optical biosensors based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) using synthesized CdS-ZnS, CdS and ZnS quantum dots (QDs) for detection of biotin (as known as vitamin H) have been developed for the first time. The sensing capability of the system is confirmed and discussed using studying of the fluorescence emission spectrum of QDs before and after hybridization. Significant FRET quenching is observed for CdS/ZnS core shell QDs to biotin. ZnS shell acts as passivation layer for CdS QDs and it increases photo-induced energy transfer from the QD to biotin and also increases long term stability of CdS QDs.
