摘要
The crystallographic and spectroscopic properties, as well as the magnetic susceptibility of Na4NpO5, were found to be in agreement with a tetragonal structure, space group C4h-I4/m, already proposed by previous authors. The lattice constants were evaluated to a = 750.7 pm and c = 461.1 pm. The magnetic susceptibilities of Na4UO5 and Na4NpO5 are comparable with data from other 5f0 and 5f1 systems, respectively. The absence of a magnetic transition in Na4NpO5 is suspected to be due to the possible existence of a "critical Np-Np distance", above which exchange interactions are too small to cause ordering.
