摘要
The chemical durability of glass sheets coated by silicon, titanium and zirconium oxide gel layers has been evaluated against Ca(OH)2 basic attack. The reaction has been studied by ion beam analysis as a function of time and temperature of the treatment. The main result emerging from this work is the effectiveness of Ti and Zr oxide gel coatings in improving alkaline durability of soda-lime glass. The kinetic behavior of individual oxide coatings vs. Ca(OH)2 attack has been evaluated different interaction mechanisms with the basic solution between SiO2 and protective TiO2 and ZrO2 coatings have been found.
