Combined-cycle plants equipped with both gas and steam turbines will account for approximately half of the fossil-fired power plant capacity to be installed worldwide during the next ten years. The enormous success of combined-cycle technology is due to its outstanding efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental compatibility.
