STABILITY OF REACTION-DIFFUSION-CONVECTION SYSTEMS - THE CASE OF LINEAR SHEAR-FLOW

摘要
We determine the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues that govern the stability of a homogeneous steady state of chemical systems with equal diffusion coefficients in linear shear flow. Linear shear flow delays the onset of instabilities in such systems, and introduces oscillatory time scales for perturbations of short wavelength in the direction of the flow.
