摘要
An electromagnetic flow control device for molten steel in the mold of a continuous slab easter has been developed to improve the quality of steel sheet products. The newly designed device was characterized by two static magnetic fields imposed on the whole width of the slab. Numerical simulations and mercury model experiments confirmed the decrease of the liquid flow in the mold. Practical application to the No. 3 easter in Chiba Works resulted in the improvement of the surface and internal quality of the final products.
