THE TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENCE OF THE DC ELECTRICAL-CONDUCTIVITY IN LOW-DIMENSIONAL SYNTHETIC METALS

The temperature-dependence of the dc electrical conductivity sigma-(T) of synthetic metals with Fermi-surface properties allowing for the development of stronger Kohn mode-softening is studied by a projector formalism in a single-particle approximation. The underlying relaxation-time is calculated for one-phonon one-electron scattering processes. It is shown that a T-2 law of sigma-(T) is possible by mode-softening on planar and nonplanar Fermi-surfaces. The capability of the suggested model is demonstrated for a collection of synthetic metals.
