摘要
A dark green jade has been discovered recently in secondary alluvial deposits which are widespread in the Po valley, between Cuneo and Turin (Piedmont, Italy). Traditional gemmological tests have been combined with advanced analytical techniques (X-ray powder diffraction, chemical composition determination, absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy) and thin section examinations to provide full characterization of this material and reveal that it is mainly composed of omphacite pyroxene.
