THE PURPOSES OF THIS PAPER ARE TO INTRODUCE THIS SPECIAL SERIES AND TO PRESENT A FRAMEWORK FOR SCIENCE FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES. THE PAPER REVIEWS CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTIONAL PERSPECTIVES AND PROPOSES CONSIDERATION OF A THEMATIC SCHEME FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE PROGRAMS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES.
