摘要
In the absorption spectrum of acenaphthem the onset of the second singlet transition is obscured by a strong overlap of the S1 and the S2 band. Comparison of absorption spectra taken in solution and in the gas phase allows an identification of the 0-0 transition of S2 through the different solvent shift of S1 (120 cm-1) and S2 (1200 cm-1). The gas phase spectrum is shown up to 48000 cm-1.
