SPIN DETERMINATION AND SPECTRUM CALCULATION OF SUPERDEFORMED BAND IN DY-152

摘要
Using the Wu-Zeng expression for rotational spectrum, the spin of the lowest one of the twenty levels observed in the SD band in 152Dy is determined, from the transition energies, to be 25HBAR, rather than 22HBAR suggested previously. As a result, the calculated SD levels are in excellent agreement with experiments. Correspondingly, contrary to the results given previously, the kinematic moment of inertia J(1) is always larger (but not smaller) than the dynamic moment of inertia J(2), and decreases (but not increases) slowly with rotational frequency omega.
