The Authors describe herein a case of nipple adenoma that was unusually diagnosed through the use of fine needle biopsy. This diagnosis subsequently was confirmed by the histologic examination of a surgical sample. They also demonstrated a morphologic agreement between the cytologic and histologic pictures. They noted the cytologic inadequacy demonstrated through nipple scraping and controlling of the mammary secretion as opposed to the cytologic examination utilizing fine needle aspiration, coming to the conclusion that the latter is a valid method for the diagnosis of nipple adenoma.
