摘要：

In response to the comments of Foty et al., I recalculate the dispersive propagation of femtosecond optical pulses by using different numerical methods. It is shown that the simple numerical Fourier analysis gives correct results for pulse duration down to 5 fs, and that in the results of Foty et al. the causality seems to be violated.
