A SPECTROSCOPIC STUDY OF THE X4-SIGMA-G-(V=4-6) LEVELS OF C-2+ USING THE STIMULATED-EMISSION PUMPING TECHNIQUE

摘要
Stimulated emission pumping (SEP) spectroscopy was used to characterize vibrationally excited levels (ν=4-6) of the X̃4Σg - ground electronic state of C2 +. Rotationally resolved B̃4Σu -→X̃4Σg - transitions were detected by observation of a decrease in the total laser-excited fluorescence (LEF) signal from the B̃4Σu - (ν′=2) level. In order to obtain the SEP spectra, a modulation scheme which discriminated against one-photon fluorescence signals was successfully employed. The SEP line positions were used together with those from a previous LEF study to improve the molecular constants of the X̃4Σg - state of C2 +. © 1990.
