摘要
Introduction: Women that frequent an SPA in Sao Paulo countryside were studied with the purpose of identify their nutritional knowledge and lifestyle and associate them to their nutritional state. We realize that in nowadays, even with all available information, yet people preserve wrong concepts. Objective: Identify the lifestyle and nutritional knowledge of women that frequent an SPA and associate them to corporal mass rate. Materials and Methods: The study was realized with 20 women with the average age of 44.5 to +/- 8.86 years. It was applied a questionnaire that identified the nutritional knowledge and lifestyle. It was evaluated the Body Mass Index (BMI) with the weight and height data. Results and Discussion: From the 20 women analyzed, 60% were with overweight. This result shows the obesity increase in Brazil. About the practice of physical exercise, 57.1% of the overweight women and 60% of the obese were sedentary, what diminishes or delays the slimming in a right way, since physical exercise promotes lipolise. All women considered obese had already looked for some kind of professional advice and did not achieved success, this situation may be occurred because of the lack of adhesion between client and professional. Conclusion: The women studied had no right habits both in food customs as in practicing physical exercises. And, besides that, they had wrong concepts about alimentation.
