摘要
The detection and characterization of tight cracks is generally found to be difficult by the existing NDT methods, particularly for smaller crack lengths. The application of the photoelastic coating technique for the detection and quantification of this type of surface tight cracks and through tight cracks is demonstrated. A procedure for determination of the crack length and crack depth is proposed along with supporting experimental data.
